Simon's Training Page
Simon has been learning running contacts along with Al. It seemed to make sense to see how it would work out for him as it would move slowly upward, and would save me having to teach it twice.
He's a great student!! He loves to play agility. He has tons of drive. Is very clever. Learns quickly. And I think he likes it!!
I love that he's getting closer and closer to actually landing in a down on the table.
His A Frame is fearless. I have to keep the increments which I raise the A Frame very small as he has over-jumped the descent side of the A Frame when he expected it to be the same as the last time he went; causing him to over-jump , thereby landing on the hoop!!?? 2 inches make a big difference after the A Frame gets higher than 4 feet. So now I only raise it 1/2 inch at a time and that prevents him from landing at the bottom!!?? He's like an Olympic ski jumper and just glides over the top and lands with his two front feet in the contact zone. I think I'd like him to take two strides on the way down. One stride to land, one in the contact zone and then off the A Frame.
This is a good example of what he does most of the time. He is always hitting the contact zone if the hoop is close enough to the bottom of the A Frame.
